In 2014, WHO reported that 28% of adults in UK were considered clinically obese and the number has continued to grow since then. It’s not a simple process when it comes to breaking food addiction. Unlike other addictions such as smoking, food can’t be just cut out entirely since we need it to survive. Therefore, making lifestyle changes and addressing underlying issues is essential for dealing with this type of addiction. It takes a lot of effort and discipline to teach the mind how to distinguish between what it needs and desires.

To effectively achieve long-term success, it’s important to alter our attitudes. Going on a diet is a counterproductive approach as it only causes us to gravitate toward high calorie foods like sugar and carbs that provide quick energy boosts. Instead, we need to change our thought processes. Our main objective is to help clients develop long-term and sustainable healthy habits which bring them joy. When we feel satisfied with our changes, it becomes easier to create lasting success.
