Confidentiality and safeguarding
Confidentiality will be maintained wherever possible. However, confidentiality may be breached if there is reasonable belief that:
- A client is at risk of serious harm.
- Another person is at risk of serious harm.
- A child may be experiencing abuse or neglect.
- A vulnerable adult may be experiencing abuse or neglect.
- Disclosure is required by law or court order.
Where possible, concerns will be discussed with the client before any action is taken.
Safeguarding procedures
Appropriate safeguarding procedures may include consultation with safeguarding professionals, social services, healthcare professionals, emergency services, or other relevant authorities.
All safeguarding concerns will be documented appropriately and handled in accordance with current UK safeguarding legislation and professional ethical standards.
